Week 4 assignment

I had a busy week and didn't start this assignment until Friday, but the animating part went a lot faster this week compared to last week. It seems I've learned something...

My assignment was to animate a heavy and a light ball. They should be a contrast like a bowling ball and a ping pong ball. Which was what I ended up with. Also we do revisions for past week assignments as well and I felt the pose got more energetic with the new changes.

Heavy vs light

Week 3 assignment

This week went by so fast.
My assignment this week was to pose Stu in an excitement pose and to make a bouncing basketball within the frame limit of 100 frames.

Making a original pose for excitement is sooo hard when you don't have a face. Even if you see excitement in your pose, other people can see devastation. So it's critical to get feedback from your peers. And luckily I did, so I went for a traditional cliche pose. But hopefully I did this pose well.

So here is my excited Stu pose

And here is my bouncing ball

First assignment. Done!

Alright! Now I feel like I'm a student again. I just turned in my first assignment at AM! I love this. After waiting so long to start this school I'm finally here and I'm just as motivated as i was 2 years ago first reading about this school!

Well. Here is what I turned in for week 2.

I had forgot...

Tweak this. Just a tad more up on that. Maybe rotate a tiny bit more...?

I had forgot how much tweaking animation is.

I'm nearing the end of the week and I want to turn in my paper on Saturday so I can have a day of relaxation.

But Stu always wants more attention. Here are some of the progress pictures of my poses. As you can see, although I'm complaining about tweaking, it does help the pose. I hope. Otherwise I'll tweak it some more...

Stu! Where are you off to?!

Pose #6 is done!
I think I messed to much around with this one. I was happy at one point, but all I could hear was Disney say "Push the pose more! More! MORE!" ... So I did.

Week 2

Week 2 is here and my first assignment is to draw poses and make a 3D model of the one I feel is the most successful.

Here is my first set of thumbnails, so far my favorites are #2,4,6,7,15,16. I'll see what people around me have to say about them before I try to make a second pass at them.

I've decided to go for #7. At least make this really good, and then maybe try for a more dynamic pose later. I really like #6, so look out for that one soon.
But here's my 3D version of pose #7

Class 1 - Week 1

 EXCITED!!!

The wait is finally over!!
It was 2 years ago, during my last semester at Noroff Institute, that I decided to save my money up for Animation Mentor and really sharpen my skill as an animator.
Right now, only 4 hours after AM opened their sites I am sitting here not sure where to begin. I will try my best to update this progress blog with... well, my progress.

I have sadly not been doing so much animating since I graduated Noroff here in Norway, but I have been keeping myself in an animators mind by watching and reading a lot of animation. The work I do have is from school and here is some of it.

Get a Life - 2011

I can't wait to, again, dive into the basics of animation and getting inspired.

Happy animating, guys!
